HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2009 passed us like a flash of lightning, it was a somewhat bitter sweet year for us. We were unfortunate to have witnessed the demise of a great and talented musician who has carved the careers of many and his musical influences are borderless, Michael Jackson. A man so great even my own boss cites him as his musical inspiration.

The sweet part that occured for most parts of the year was our journey on the Mosaic bandwagon definitely soared to new heights! With shows that made us overjoyed, a visit to a foreign land and the icing on the cake, the launch of my maestro's debut album DiversiFy!

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all those who have been with us throughout the year and we look for nothing but your support in the coming year.

An early Christmas, thanks to Hannah Tan!

Hannah Tan organized a concert for the underprivileged, a real nice gesture by her side before she leaves to Japan for a two year recording deal. It was nice to see so many celebrities join the cause!

Held at the Garden’s Hotel on 20th December, this event was attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia who even wowed the crowd by singing two songs, in Malay might I add! How radical was that?!

This was my first time meeting Hannah and it was really a meeting I will not forget, she was so bubbly and full of life, and all that while she was nursing a sore throat and flu, her team was great too! Made us all feel comfortable, well it was a real X Mas party! And no one is mean when it comes to X Mas!

Performers that rocked the ballroom that night included, Reefa, Sasi the Don, Meet Uncle Hussein, Reymee of Innuendo, Jojo Struys who tapped danced!, Harith Iskandar, The Ramanados and my favorite the man with the soulful voice Liang!

Liang actually collaborated with Dennis on one of DiversiFy’s tracks, watching that man perform live is pure bliss! Plus he’s one of the nicest celebs I have met, such a joker too, oh and a super snazzy dresser!

Shawn Lee managed to make the young and old all have a temporary lapse of sanity when he opened the show with the Phantom Dancers and Hannah Tan, performing his beat boxing skit, we don’t call him an extraordinaire for nothing yeah?

Now comes the juicy part, Dennis was slated to perform his hit song Prelude in F minor alongside Malaysia’s Kenny G, Jimmy Sax, however during sound check he stroke a note with Ash Nair and they decided to collaborate on one of Ash’s songs from his album! Everyone knows Ash has a heavenly voice, and great guitar skills too! Great collaboration, one that is sure to repeat itself in the future, I loved their performance at No Black Tie and loved it even more this time around!

Seeing my bossy play his violin and that too with such ease, even on a song he just rehearsed moments ago, makes me feel special for having known him and also have the once in a lifetime opportunity to work with him.

After all, where else do you get the chance to hang with celebs? And be able to watch them from the side of the stage! Beats VIP seating I tell you!
Piccie time!
View of the ballroom in all it's splendour.

Maestro looking dashing as ever =)

Maestro, gorgeous Hannah Tan, Stephy and muah!

Shopping to our Tune =)

If you were shopping in the Garden’s mall during the weekends of December, you would have heard a jazz band entertaining the shoppers with jazz renditions of Christmas songs? Well lo and behold, those tunes were churned out by the wonderful line up of musicians Mosaic has to offer!

Dressed in red and sometimes adorning Santa’s hat, our saxophonist, double bassist, keyboardist and sometimes a dynamic vocalist played Xmas songs for half an hour every weekend, much to the delight of families shopping.

Nothing to get you into the real Christmas mood than the sound of music!

Hope you had a great time listening to them while shopping! It was truly fun for the whole family =)
Picture time!

Parkson was entertained yet again =)

The folks at Parkson are great at throwing parties, especially one’s for their elite card holders. If your not a card holder, head over to the nearest Parkson Department store and find out how to become one. It’s real simple =)

This time around, they really wanted to party the night away and asked for a 4 Piece Band ! That is a Singer, Drummer, Keyboardist and Bassist and we being in the Christmas mood decided to give them a bonanza and offered our best Saxophonist =)

Dennis entertained the crowd in yet another one of his Highlight performance, yes that highlight performance that makes the ladies go gaga and the men turn green with jealousy! After all how many can boasts violin skills, good looks and might I add a true humanitarian! Hey didn’t I already mention I have the world’s coolest boss!

The gorgeous Serena C was the emcee of this event, and she manages to talk her way through everyone’s hearts, such a lovely pocket sized lady she is. One that can probably talk her way through anything ;)

Our band had an awesome time performing for the shoppers and guests at Parkson, it’s always great especially when we have the best line up and the more instruments the more fun filled! Everything from jazz to the most up tempo of songs was played.

Plus a little something something from the Maestro himself, he’s such a Santa Claus when it comes to Christmas and he decided to put on a little performance with the band and do rendition of Rudolph a Red Nose Reindeer! Spectacular isn’t it?

Speaking of Christmas, did you check out Pavilion’s Christmas decoration during the holiday season? Simply beautiful, really set a high standard in terms of Christmas decorations =)

Pictures to tickle your fancy =)
